The agreement was initiated to create synergies by combining the robotics technologies and business infrastructure of MX Group, which has a high proportion of overseas business and strong global engineering capabilities, and AUBO, whose technological capabilities and supply chain have been proven in the global market. MX Group plans to maximize these synergies by integrating MX On's smart factory software and control solutions, including Smart HMI and SCADA, with MX Robotics' expertise in robotics and logistics automation.
Since 2003, MX Robotics has accumulated technical expertise and hands-on experience in deploying AGVs, AMRs, RGVs, and gantry robots across advanced industrial sectors, including semiconductors, petrochemicals, and tires. With the addition of AUBO's collaborative robot platform, the company will be able to provide highly integrated robotics and logistics automation solutions to manufacturing and logistics facilities in Korea and overseas.
The key aspect of this MOU is that the cooperation extends beyond the joint development of collaborative robots to encompass the comprehensive joint development of robotics systems, including industrial data analysis, robot monitoring and control systems, and integrated interfaces. The companies also plan to cooperate in various areas, including product and component supply, after-sales service, and technical support, focusing on generating tangible business results.
As more than 70% of MX Robotics' total revenue comes from overseas markets with strong manufacturing growth potential, including India, the United States, and China, the company plans to actively respond to growing demand for automation equipment resulting from global manufacturers' localization of production facilities and expand its orders.
AUBO, the partner in this agreement, holds more than 40% of China's collaborative robot market, ranking first in China and among the world's top five collaborative robot manufacturers. The company has a network of approximately 500 partners across more than 50 countries, including the United States, Germany, and Japan, and surpassed 30,000 units in cumulative global sales as of 2024.
AUBO holds international safety certifications, including European CE, North American NRTL, Korean KCs, and ISO certifications. It has also gained recognition for its technological capabilities and product competitiveness by winning prestigious design awards, including Germany's Red Dot Design Award, the U.S. IDEA Award, and the iF Design Award.
An MX Group representative stated, "We expect significant synergies from combining the robotics solutions and logistics automation engineering capabilities of our group companies with AUBO's collaborative robot technology. We hope this MOU will mark a turning point in achieving differentiated growth from competitors in the global logistics robotics market."
